Robin Close

Pram Shed Gallery

(Above) Installation view of Robin Close ~ Selected Paintings at Pram Shed Gallery, July 2021

A promising artist in his youth, Robin Close was ‘one to to watch’. Sadly, a debilitating mental health condition prevented him from realising his dream of becoming the next Jack Vettriano. He has spent much of his adult life floating about in the wilderness, occasionally being spotted (though mostly ignored), scratching around in the margins of the contemporary art world. Throughout this time, however, Robin has continued to produce work in isolation. He is now ready to show some of this work to an eagerly awaiting public …in his shed.

This exhibition was part of the E17 Art Trail, held across Walthamstow, North East London, in July 2021
